my guy

This is my guy. We have had a great summer and my kids have been so fun! Cole was my lighting helper today before a morning shoot - after this great shot, my mom came and whisked him away for a fun day together. I think this might be a tiger impression - you should have seen the dead squirrel impression from last summer. It was equally as impressive on an entirely different level. Something about this image is really speaking to me today - I might have to find the perfect place for this in the house - hmm, where can we put this w/o frightening anyone too much? 20x20 in the downstairs bathroom? That would fill the whole wall - it would be fun to hear surprised gasps from visitors as they go in and close the door :-)

What a sweet little guy - this is another sweet circle - a new baby of one of my wedding video couples! Congratulations guys - he is so sweet and beautiful - I had a great time getting to know him and seeing you both!

We had a great time playing outside on a beautiful summer morning didn't we Oliver! And Charlotte you are the sweetest little one! What an honor to get to take portraits of these young ones - thanks so much! What makes this so special is I created their Mom and Dad's wedding video several years ago. I love that kind of circle!!! New Studio

Ok, so the big news is I ACTUALLY HAVE A STUDIO! It has been a month now, I officially started using it at the beginning of May, but this May has been perhaps the most crazy month EVER! I have been so swamped, I couldn't even blog about the new space.

I am sharing a fabulous studio with a wonderful photographer, JJ Auldridge. She is great, we really clicked the moment we met - I think we will be great studio-mates! It is an amazing space in the Crossroads in KCMO - I am so very excited to be down there! When I was teaching Art, I spent more time down there gallery hopping, and I am so inspired to be back as an artist myself! There is an energy there that is like no other.

So, I will be meeting video clients there and proofing the portrait photography work that I have been doing. All of my editing and studio work will stay in my current location - mostly due to my children's schedules and the fact that I am just too spoiled to just walk up the stairs and work in my PJ's half the time!

So yay for JJ and all her hard work on this place and yay for me that I don't have to kick my poor kids and hubby out of the house every time I need to meet with a client! :-) Not to mention clean the "show room" of all our toys and stuff! I spotted one of my son's fake rubber bugs under a chair at my last consultation - I hope my couple didn't see it! Oops.

Happy 2nd Birthday Ellen! We had such fun together - it was great to get to come over and play and hang out with you as a big two year old! You look so much like your cousin!!! I am having so much fun watching you grow up from a little baby - I am excited your Mom will get to be my very first to break in my new studio space!!! More on that later.
